Breeders' Cup hopefuls

| | Comments (0) |

Oak Tree racing fans will have the opportunity to watch at least three strong Breeders' Cup contenders the first weekend of the meeting, Oak Tree opens on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, The Tin Man and Lava Man might hook up in the Clement L. Hirsch, a Grade I event at 1 1/4 miles on the turf. Then, the following Saturday, Oct. 7, Brother Derek may go in the Goodwood Breeders' Cup Handicap at 1 1/8 miles over the main track. Very good racing, with all sorts of Breeders' Cup preps scheduled the first two weekends of the meeting.
Richard Mandella may be doing his best training job ever with The Tin Man, the old warrior who won the Arlington Million last month and looks poised to end the season on a strong note. Any thoughts about the Breeders' Cup?
