Liquidity disappoints

| | Comments (3) |

Team O"Neill has to be disappointed with Liquidity's effort in today's Champagne Stakes for juveniles at Belmont Park.

The horse's camp was hoping for a respectable run in the race to justify going to the Breeders' Cup Juvenile on Nov. 4. But the colt was nowhere near the top three and likely will stay home and regroup. The winner of the Champagne, Scat Daddy, looks like he'll be one of the contenders in the BC Juvenile. He should take to Churchill Downs' racing surface with his running style.

Question for you. As a professional handicapper do you often find yourself in a position of not being able to wager on a certain jockey or trainer, even though they are talented and often in the top ten of the standings? LOL Strange question maybe but I can't seem to cash a ticket when Arron Gryder rides a horse and the same goes for the trainer Rafael DeLeon. I also liked Opimian the other day and of course wagered. Result was a third place finish and not cashing again on Arron Gryder.

If I like a horse and the odds are good enough -- 20-1 or higher -- I'll play it no matter who is riding. Now, there are a few jocks out there I won't play at lower odds, but they will remain anonymous. My advice to you: Keep betting Gryder and DeLeon if you like their horses, particularly Gryder, who doesn't win as much as the P-Vals, Espinozas, Nakatanis and Solis, but is still a very capable rider.
