Thor's Echo top sprinter?

| | Comments (0) |

Now that he's added the Grade I Frank J. DeFrancis Memorial Dash at Laurel Park to his resume, should the Doug O'Neill-trained Thor's Echo win an Eclipse Award as top sprinter? My answer is yes.

Thor's Echo won only twice this year, but both victories came in Grade I sprints and there are only five Grade I sprint races in the country each year. In a year where no other sprinter, other than Thor's Echo, stepped up late in the year, he deserves the honor.
