Kellie Cerin, wife of trainer Vladimir Cerin, died Thursday of injuries to her head after a fall, Cerin told the Daily Racing Form. The couple, which had been married for 17 years, was vacationing in Mexico at the time of the tragic accident. Cerin told the Daily Racing Form's Steve Andersen that his wife tripped on a step and hit her head.
Funeral services have been set for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd in Arcadia.

Kellie Cerin was involved in her husband's stable several mornings a week and was also a horse-riding teacher and trainer of show jumpers. Cerin, 52, lives in Arcadia, not far from Santa Anita. The couple has three sons and a daughter. In lieu of flowers, Cerin asked that donations be made to the California Equine Retirement Foundation.
