Terrible trio at Santa Anita?

| | Comments (0) |

Looking over the Wednesday card at Santa Anita, three horses particularly caught my eye. The first was Take a Chance in the fourth. A 5-year-old gelded son of Petionville, Take a Chance drops a peg to $10,000 and retains the services of the underrated Jon Court. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Take a Chance is trained by Doug O'Neill, who is the leading conditioner at Santa Anita. He's 2 for 5 at the distance too.

In the eighth, Can This Be True might be long gone with this group. He finished third last time out in a heat won by the promising Cobalt Blue. Tyler Baze stays aboard.
In the nightcap, take a long look at Rapid Silver. Richard Migliore, the New York native who is making himself right at home in Southern California while winning at a 14-percent clip, stays aboard. This 5-year-old son of Silver Deputy raced four-wide on the turn and still hung in there for a credible third.
