Baze riding high

| | Comments (0) |

Michael Baze, only 20 years old, looks to be ready to join Bill Shoemaker in the Hollywood Park record books as he heads toward the meet riding title. Heading into Wednesday's card, Baze holds a 52-42 edge over second-place Joe Talamo in the jockey standings.

If Baze holds onto the lead, he would become the youngest jockey to win the Hollywood Park riding championship since Bill Shoemaker won the title as an 18-year-old in 1950. Laffit Pincay Jr. and Tyler Baze were both 21 when they won Hollypark riding titles in 1968 and 2004, respectively.
