The debut of Santa Anita’s new $10 million-plus Cushion Track went smoothly Wednesday. Two of the first three races run over the synthetic surface were won in gate-to-wire fashion and the third was won by the horse that was second until the turn for home. I got 20 bucks that says Candygram is going to get the job done in today’s sixth race at Fairplex Park. Jockey change from Delgadillo to Enriquez is a wash. Both are capable jockeys who get the job done with the right horse.
What a two-man jockey race we got going on at Pomona, huh? Going into Monday’s card, Martin Pedroza led Tyler Baze by one win, 21-20.
