Oak Tree -- Day 2

| | Comments (0) |

There are two solid plays at Oak Tree today -- B R's Girl in the fifth and Russian Veto in the nightcap. There are some others that look good, but those two are my two standouts on the eight-race card. Let's take a closer look:

1st -- Startin Fresh with Victor Espinoza in the irons deserves a look here at a decent price.
2nd -- Thunder One could be long gone in this spot. The combination of Koriner and Gryder is a productive one. Also take a look at Asteri in this spot.
4th -- Closet Trader, trained by Ron McAnally, gets the services of Richard Migliore here. He'll be closing ground in the stretch.
5th -- B R's Girl loomed up and looked like a winner at Del Mar on Pacific Classic Day only to finish second under Garrett Gomez. Don't take too short a price, but this 2-year-old daughter of Pulpit, trained by John Sadler, looks to be sitting on her maiden score as she tries the turf and two turns for the first time in five races.
6th -- Intangaroo, with top apprentice Alonzo Quinonez up, looks tough in this spot after racing four-wide into the turn on Aug. 26 at Del Mar. Forest Miss, with newcomer Fernando Jara in the saddle, is the top long-shot play here.
7th -- Mean Heat, Tizfiz and Onida all look good in this one-mile turf event. Use Tizfiz and Onida as exacta key horses.
8th -- In the words of Trevor Denman, Russian Veto will be "moving like an express train" through the stretch and will get up in the final 100 yards to win "like he just dropped in at the eighth pole." It says here Nakatani wins the nightcap.
Good luck!!!!
