If you’re sitting around the house today with nothing to do and have a TVG account, may I suggest the following horses to perhaps consider a small investment:
In the third, I like Hawaiian Afleet, trained by William Morey and ridden by Rafael Bejarano. Hawaiian Afleet is dropping a notch, switches to Del Mar’s leading rider, Bejarano, and looks well placed to score her third victory in nine starts. She’s won two of four on synthetic tracks. Hawaiian Afleet is 4-1 on the morning line.
In the nightcap, take a good look at Carmens Excess, trained by the more than capable Kathy Walsh. The 3-year-old gelding is dropping in from $40,000 to $32,000 maiden claimers and is a good bet to give Walsh her first score at Del Mar this summer. Walsh, a well-kept secret on the SoCal circuit, is clicking with 27 percent of her starters in 2008. Carmens Excess is 5-2 on the morning line, so you won’t get rich, but she’s a solid single in the exotics.
Good luck!!!
