Today's stakes winners
Here's who I like in the four graded stakes races today at Santa Anita:
Las Virgenes -- Stardom Bound could be one of the best fillies we've ever seen.
Thunder Road -- Dilemma could fire here. I like that Garrett Gomez stays with him and he's been in the money on synthetics in six of eight starts.
Robert B. Lewis -- I didn't love Pioneerof the Nile's win in the CashCall Futurity as much as some, but Bob Baffert is high on him.
Strub -- Why is Nownownow 8-1 on the morning line after an impressive victory in the San Fernando? I'm sticking with him.

Yeah, I'll tell you what buster, I wasn't that high on Pioneerof the Nile as much either but after today's race I have to jump on the bandwagon. Very impressive win in the Robert Lewis.
Yes, I agree. And you also have to feel for Gary Stute, whose Papa Clem ran way too good to lose. After the race, Pioneerof the Nile's trainer, Bob Baffert, said he had a lot of respect for Papa Clem, who went postward at 17-1 in the Robert B. Lewis, and that he tried to buy him. But the colt is named after owner Bo Hirsch's father, Clement Hirsch, and when Baffert saw that, he figured his chances to buy the colt weren't too good.
