3. Pioneerof the Nile -- Santa Anita Derby will provide stiffest test yet
4. Old Fashioned -- Can redeem himself in Arkansas Derby on April 11

6. Quality Road -- Florida Derby win set him up nicely for Louisville
7. Chocolate Candy -- Santa Anita Derby isn't just a two-horse race
8. Dunkirk -- Figures to get only better after runner-up effort in Florida Derby
9. Imperial Council -- Will try to turn tables on 'Revenge in Wood

Are You crazy. Rating a horse as number one who has never run on anything but a plastic track.

Bob,
Last time I looked, I had all my faculties still intact. Thing is, no one knows for sure yet how The Pamplemousse or how Pioneerof the Nile will run on dirt. We won't know until Derby day on May 2. Sometimes horses run better on the dirt. Did you see I Want Revenge's race in the Gotham? He had been competitive on the synthetics but loved the dirt. Bruce Headley's daughter and assistant trainer, Karen Headley, told me that they always thought that even though Street Boss was super successful on synthetics, that he would have been even better on dirt. And The Pamplemousse's runaway victory in the Sham Stakes, a race where he was widening without even being asked by jockey Alex Solis over a track that is more anti-speed than speed biased, impressed me more than any prep by a Derby contender this year. We'll see come Derby day.

Hey Bob Bertz! Who's your pick? Put on your big boy pants and lets here from you. I Want Revenge is my fave to win the KY Derby!

Ing,
Big race Saturday for I Want Revenge in the Wood. If he can prove his 8 1/2-length win in the Gotham on March 7 was for real, he could go postward as the Derby favorite. It's wide open right now.

I had to check back to see if "Big Bob Bertz" had posted his Derby selection yet but I see he's a bit reluctant to speak. Must be still pouring over the P.P.'s :)
