And if you do watch it, you know that the Azusa resident didn't even make the top 12. The 19-year-old Sierra High graduate got the boot last week during a very teary and emotional show.
So why is this no-name talentless San Gabriel Valley native still acting like a diva?
I called his home and spoke to his kind mother, who said her son couldn't talk on the phone because he was resting after doing several interviews. (At this time it was 10:30 a.m.)
So I politely asked if Thursday would be a good day to meet with him and have a photographer take some pictures as well.
Nope, no pictures, she says.
She went on to add that he would have to check with his manager first before he actually talked to me person-to-person. I guess he usually does phone interviews.
Who is this kid? We tried to do a nice feature on his American Idol experiences, but he's obviously still basking in his 15 minutes of fame.
He might as well milk it. It's not going to last for very much longer.

Danny Noriega is a closet homosexual with serious delusions about having any kind of future career. Typically, ultra-feminine men don't appeal much to any kind of demographic, (other than 50-year-old grandmothers apparently - and that's a huge target market LOLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!) therefore I can't see why any record label would spend millions to support an ultimately futile effort.
The only way I can foresee him getting any more than his 15 minutes of fame is by getting a sex change and striving to be the FEMALE diva that, deep down, he really wants to be.

As far as this kid, Danny Nobody, he sucked when he was on American Idol so now that he got kicked off, it just proves that he still "blows." He couldn't just could sing well.

Talentless? I don't think so. He might not have been that amazing when it really mattered, but did you see him during Hollywood week? He was amazing, that much can't be denied - unless you're deaf, or in your case, bitter. I don't know if Danny has a future as a singer, but I'd like to think so. Personally, I'd rather see him on TV since he's so entertaining; contrary to what some of the people commenting here may think, not EVERYONE finds him to be an annoying eyesore.
And um, do divas have webcam chats with their fans for a couple of hours at a time? Last time I checked, no. Why don't you stick to writing what you KNOW instead of going on angry rants and inspiring wankfests like this one.

I'm sorry, but this comes off as bitter and subjectively written over presumptive circumstances. Like him or not, a mother being protective of her son does not equate to Danny being a "diva." From what I've seen, this boy regularly interacts with his fans and takes the time to write back to everyone and thank them for his comments, which is more than most do. Did you ever once consider that perhaps, after doing copious amounts of interviews and just having returned from a cruise, that he could have wanted a break from everything and just spend some time away from the media (who constantly bash him anyway)? Also, as you may or may not be aware of, Danny is still under contract with Fox and American Idol until the tour date ends (sometime in May, I believe), so he is currently "owned" by them and must abide by the terms on his contract, including consulting his manager whenever he does an interview.

Danny IS a diva... always will be. He's not doing this out of vain... he has plenty of fans (including myself) who think that he's amazing and will make it far in life. Just because someone was kicked from AI doesn't mean they can't be well-known anymore... plus, he's probably still under contracts from being on AI that don't allow him to talk freely... I'm pretty sure he can't even sing without permission, but I could be wrong. Anyway, he's great. He's making the best out of life... he's VERY talented and had one of the best voices and personalities on the entire show, for all seasons. He's made a name for himself, and he'll make it far... I don't think he'd let himself go back down to being "nameless"... he'll keep pushing forward and do even bigger things...
(Don't say such mean, slanderous things about him just because he wasn't able to have an interview with you... that's rude.)
I might as well add that this isn't a very professional thing of you to do... getting pissy and writing slanderous things about someone just because they won't have an interview with you... Danny isn't your slave, or anyone's slave. Just because he loves his fans doesn't mean he has to do every single thing asked of him. You probably weren't very professional about it, either... calling him at his house, demanding an interview and pictures at that very second? Professionals would say, "Hello, I'm so-and-so from this place, and I was wondering if I could speak to Danny sometime at your convenience about his experiences on American Idol." And, if they say no, you back away and give them their peace... oh, and you DON'T write immature articles like this. If you have a boss, you should be fired... if not, then you should be completely ashamed of yourself. Learn how to deal with celebrities, please.
I'm usually just an observer, but this is tragically ridiculous. I am a fan, I admit, but the people we idolize can't please all of us. Even if I weren't, just because they refused to do an interview doesn't really need to be publicized like this. They do have their own lives to lead in case you haven't noticed (or you were just too busy slandering him so you really didn't give it much thought). While they ARE public personas, they also have a private life that they have every right to protect. Yes, protect. Sometimes even from so-called reporters such as yourself.
And I do agree with xSpiral. One doesn't have to have perfect grammar to put their point across...and that comment was a tad too personal. You don't have to have a degree in English to be heard. Also, just because somebody likes someone you hate doesn't mean you can go and take it against that person. It's not nice to sour-grape. Didn't they teach you that in school?

I find it extremely interesting that you 1) called for daany at his house, 2) at 10:30am, and then 3) scoffed when Mamiega (yeah I said it) didn't automatically kiss your feet for wanting to take amateur photos of her (according to you) "nothing" son.
Personally I think your tactics were invasive and you expectations were inconsiderate and Mamiega handled with a lot more class than I would have.
Anyhoo Danny is fab and takes criticism like a champ. Even if only the 45,000 fans on his myspace and the thousands on facebook, and the thousands of Idol fans and the hundreds that come to his stickam chat and Ellen and Ramielle and his mom and Jazzeh and me remain his fans, I'm sure he'll be the same true to himself Danny. I can't wait to see more from him. hmm... I might write his mom and ask for an interview :D
I wouldn't want to waste my breath defending Danny since the article said it itself. The writer is just a pathetic loser who got pissed off because she couldn't get her interview. Why slander if you're the one who wants to meet him in the first place? What major lack of class and morals.
This is ridiculous. First of all, the post was one person's opinion just like the fan comments are. Second, outside of Maritza and Danny's mom, no one really knows how the conversation went. Sometimes there are stories that reporters don't want to do but should do it for the public. Also, most of the time, someone contacts the media to do a story. And since it is for a paper that is from Danny's hometown, it would have been more for the public, the readers, than for the reporter. Reporters interview people that have overcome cancer, survived wars, etc. As a matter of fact, if you have read any other of Maritza's stories, you would see she's met alot more interesting, talented and courageous people than Danny. He is still young so we'll see what he really does with his life than have lots of friends in facebook and myspace, I'll give him that much. Maritza has done stories on autism, a holocaust survivor and a scholarship pageant winner who volunteers, works, competes, all while working on her college degree.
Danny should take notes from his fellow AI members that have been cast off this season such as Amanda Overmyer, see the 'SO REFRESHING' post on this blog.
I don't wish ill will on anyone, but I do wish that Danny realizes he needs to set a better example since there are impressionable young fans out there that look up to him and whether he wants his private life to be private, it never is, whether you're famous or not, someone is always watching you.

First off, Maritza never said she approached his mother (who's probably gay too) with any disrespect. I'm not sure where that misconception was gathered, but you douche factories need to read a bit more closely before you jump to all kinds of fabricated conclusions.
This is a blog. Anyone familiar with what the definition of a blog might be? It's a little thing similiar to an editorial, or for those of you without your high school proficiency, it's a place to write opinions. I'm sure all the editors at the paper have looked over each blog that goes online and approved it. How out of touch with reality are you jackasses? Get a job.
Finally, I feel that if you're a fan of Danny Noriega, you must be fan of everyone on television. There's nothing unique about him. He's a mediocre singer and mediocre musician. Although, he's probably an awesome gay!
DANNY IS SO HOTT and he has more then 15 minutes of fame he will be faomus for the rest of his life.
