The Cal State San Bernardino women’s volleyball team is ranked No. 3 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association preseason poll.
The Coyotes (32-1) were the NCAA Division II runner-up last year, losing to nemesis Concordia-St. Paul in the title tilt.
St. Paul is No. 1, having received all first place votes. Tampa (Fla.), a national semifinalist a year ago, is No. 2.
The Coyotes, who graduated seven players, were one of three CCAA teams named in the top 25 with UC San Diego at No. 17 and Sonoma State at 24.
Metro State, one of the teams the Coyotes will play in the first weekend of the season, is ranked No. 13.
