Coyotes to picked to win CCAA volleyball title again

Coach Kim Cherniss
and her Cal State San Bernardino volleyball team earned their second consecutive
preseason honor in as many days as CSUSB was selected to win the 2012
California Collegiate Athletic Association title.

On Tuesday, the Coyotes were selected third in the AVCA Top-25 poll.

The Coyotes, who were 32-1 and finished second in the nation last year,
received six first-place votes and edged second-place Sonoma
State 115-113 in balloting coordinated by the conference coaches. UC San
Diego was third, and Cal State L.A. and Chico State completed the top
five, respectively.

The Coyotes are reloading this year after the graduation of seven seniors.

CSUSB, winners of six consecutive CCAA titles, begins the 2012 season
at the Grand Canyon Labor Day Tournament on August 31 when the Coyotes
face Colorado-Colorado Springs.
