Coyotes unranked for first time since 2000

An impressive run has ended as the Cal State
San Bernardino volleyball team has fallen out of the American Volleyball
Coaches Association Top 25.

The Coyotes (4-6) had been in the
poll for 168 straight weeks. The last poll in which they were not ranked
was the second week poll in 2000.

Cal State started the season
at No. 3 but was No. 20 last week. It split matches over the weekend,
losing to Cal State Los Angeles and beating Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Five of the six losses came to teams ranked in the top 20.

The Coyotes graduated seven starters from a team that finished as the NCAA Division II national runner-up in 2011.

Cal State plays a pair of road matches this week, traveling to Humboldt State on Thursday and trekking to nearby Cal Poly Pomona for a 7 p.m. match on Saturday at Kellogg Gymnasium.
