Cal State San Bernardino’s Brian Goins has been named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 4-10.
The Concord native guided the Coyotes to a 1-1 weekend with a win against Humboldt State and loss to the No. 4 Cal Poly Pomona Broncos.
Goins averaged 21 points a game, shooting 7-for-13 from the floor which included sinking 7-of-11 attempts from the arch. He also hit five-of-six from the free throw line for percentage of 83.3.
He made his first seven field goal attempts en route to a 28-point effort in the Coyotes 93-68 victory over the Lumberjacks on Saturday night.
The junior guard also added six rebounds, three assists, and a block to his weekend performance.
