Former Cajon High School and Cal State San Bernardino pitcher Aaron Brooks has been honored as this week’s Texas League Pitcher of the Week.

Brooks, 23, pitches for the Kansas City Royals Double-A affiliate Northwest Arkansas. He fired a complete game, four-hit shutout of Angels affiliate Arkansas last Wednesday, striking out five batters without issuing any walks while throwing 96 pitches.

In nine Double-A starts since his promotion from High-A Wilmington, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-hander is 5-3 and has struck out 34 batters while walking seven in 57.1 innings pitched.
