Redlands tennis players honored

The University of Redlands men’s tennis program has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for its academic prowess.

As a team, the Bulldogs landed among the nearly 50 NCAA Division III teams to boast a combined cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher while including their entire roster.  In addition, senior Anish Nanda, sophomores Gram Leahy and Max Licona, and freshman Jacob Lousche collected individual honors as ITA Scholar-Athletes.  In order to qualify, these varsity letter-winners must own a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the 2012-13 academic year after completing at least two semesters at Redlands.

Redlands joins fellow Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) foes, Caltech and Pomona-Pitzer, among those that earned ITA All-Academic Team status.

Individually, Nanda is a four-time recipient of the ITA Scholar-Athlete Award.  Leahy and Licona are also repeat honorees after garnering this distinction during their rookie campaigns.
