Bulldogs name new conditioning coach

The University of Redlands has named Miroslaw “Mirek” Babiarz as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and Fitness Center Director.  He replaces Daniel Aipa, who returned to his home state of Hawaii to pursue other opportunities.

Babiarz comes from Temple where he served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the past two years.  His experience includes the creation and implementation of year-round strength and conditioning programs for a variety of sports as well as management and oversight of a collegiate weight room.

Prior to Temple, he served as an assistant men’s basketball coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey after enjoying a professional playing career with the Polish Professional Basketball League.

Babiarz earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from Goldey-Beacom College (DE) and then completed his Master of Science in Kinesiology at Temple.  His graduate research topic focused on the cognitive performance benefits with the use of caffeine in athletes.

Babiarz’s stint with the Bulldogs officially begins on Aug. 26.
