SBVC’s Jones head to CS Los Angeles

San Bernardino Valley College’s Xavier Jones is headed to NCAA Division II Cal State Los Angeles.

The 6-foot-8-inch forward/center appeared in 22 games last season and led the team in blocked shots and was third in rebounding. He earned All-Foothill Conference honorable mention.

As a freshman, he averaged more than five rebounds and one block per game.

Jones was part of state and CIF championship teams in high school at La Verne Lutheran. He was awarded the California Division 5 Character Award.

Jones is the sixth player to join the Cal State L.A. program. Earlier, the Golden Eagles announced the additions of junior forward Aaron Alston from Southern University, junior guard Davon Potts from Cypress College and Cal State Northridge, forward/center Jordan Mitchell from Cal State Northridge and guard Duce Zaid from Weber State.

The Golden Eagles were 16-11 overall and finished with a 13-9 conference record for a second straight season.
