The Cal State San Bernardino volleyball team moved up two places in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll top No. 20.
The Coyotes (6-4) picked up a pair of impressive wins in starting CCAA play, defeating No. 16 Sonoma State 3-0 and San Francisco State 3-2.
Pollsters thought more of Sonoma’s win over UC San Diego than its loss to Cal State because the Seawolves (8-2) moved up from 18th to 16th.
San Diego (9-1) dropped from eighth to 10th.
The Coyotes host San Diego at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Coussoulis Arena.
Minnesota-Duluth (11-0) is ranked first and received 44 of 48 first-place votes.
Concordia-St. Paul, the reigning champion and winner of six straight titles, is second. Those teams go head-to-head this week.
