Blackwell named CCAA Player of the Week

Cal Poly Pomoma junior center Jada Blackwell has been selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 9-15.

Blackwell, a graduate of Etiwanda High School, led the Broncos to a 70-65 comeback win Saturday over Humboldt State 70-65 after CPP trailed by 18 points at the half.

Blackwell tallied an efficient 24 points, 17 of which were scored in the second half, on 43.8 percent shooting (7-for-16) from the paint and 61.5 percent shooting (8-for-13) from the free throw line, while also making both attempts from the arc.

In 31 minutes of action, the Rancho Cucamonga native also collected nine rebounds and a season-high four steals.
