Cal Poly Pomona’s Blackwell wins fourth weekly award

Cal Poly Pomona junior center Jada Blackwell is the CCAA Player

of the Week for a fourth time.

The Etiwanda High graduate helped Cal Poly Pomona to a road win Friday at Cal State Stanislaus as the Broncos finished with an 18-4 record through the CCAA schedule.

In Friday’s 69-58 win over the Warriors, Blackwell recorded a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds, followed by a dominating performance against Chico State Saturday, scoring a season-high 30 points on 12-for-24 shooting from the floor and five-for-nine shooting from the free throw line, while also knocking down 12 field goals. 

On the Weekend, the Rancho Cucamonga native averaged 24 points and 10.5 rebounds, while tallying seven blocks, four steals, and four assists.
