Corey Christ of Cal State San Bernardino earns weekly honor

Corey Christ

Junior forward Corey Christ of Cal State San Bernardino has been named CCAA Player of the Week for men’s soccer.

The Glendale, Ariz., tallied three goals in a 5-1 win over Dixie State.

Christ became the first Coyote in four seasons to score three goals in a game since All-American Obi Agwu last accomplished the feat on Oct. 3, 2010 against Cal State East Bay, a 3-1 victory.

Christ leads the Coyotes in scoring with five goals and the Coyotes are 4-0 on the season, their best start in five seasons. They resume play Friday, Sept. 26 in the CCAA opener at Cal Poly Pomona.

Christ is the first Coyote to earn the conference honor since All-American GK Tanner Olinger was named on Sept. 10, 2012.
