Cal Poly Pomona junior goalkeeper Fernando Pablo Queveda has been named CCAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for games Sept. 15-21.
He turned in two shutouts, helping the Broncos to a 1-0 win over Azusa Pacific and a 2-0 win over Cal Baptist. They were hits fourth and fifth shutouts of the young season.
Queveda has been spectacular all season, with a record of 4-0-1 in his five starts. He hasn’t allowed a goal in 472 minutes, registering 23 saves.
Cal Poly Pomona also climbed into the NSCAA NCAA Division II national rankings this week at No. 22.
The Broncos (4-0-1) play Point Loma in a nonconference game today.
They open CCAA play at Kellogg Field on Friday with a 7 p.m. game against local rival Cal State San Bernardino (4-0).
