The Cal State volleyball team moved up one place to No. 8 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II poll released today.

The Coyotes (8-2) are coming off straight set wins over Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus last weekend.

Next up for the Coyotes is a home match against local rival Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday at Coussoulis Arena.

The Coyotes were the lone CCAA team making the cut this week. UC San Diego, which had been ranked all season, was the top vote-getter among teams not making the top 25. Sonoma State and Cal State Los Angeles also received votes.

Tampa (Fla.) is ranked No. 1, having received 47 of 48 first-place votes.
