Cal Poly Pomona swept weekly soccer honors as Armando Ochoa was named CCAA men’s player of the week while Alison Sauve was named best among the women for games Oct. 6-12.
Ochoa, a junior midfielder from Riverside, led the Broncos to a sweep of Cal State East Bay and Cal State Stanislaus. In Friday’s 3-1 victory over the Pioneers, Ochoa scored his first two goals of the season including the game winner off of a free kick in the 36th minute of play.
On Sunday Ochoa scored his third goal of the weekend in the Broncos’ 2-1 win against the Warriors.
Sauve, a senior midfielder, managed the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over nationally ranked Cal State Stanislaus.
The Broncos finished 2-0 on the weekend after also snagging a 3-0 win against Cal State East Bay on Friday.
