Citrus College football players announce college decisions

Two football players from Citrus College have decided their next step.

Sophomore defensive lineman Willard “Trent” Williams will move on to Southeastern Louisiana while sophomore linebacker Dorrin Turner will head to Houston Baptist University.

Williams was a two-time All-Southern California Football Association Central League Honorable Mention honoree, earning the honors after standout freshman and sophomore campaigns.

In two seasons, Williams racked up 58 career tackles, 42 of which came during his sophomore season. He totaled 5.5 career tackles for a loss, with a break-up and a blocked kick.

Turner meanwhile was a second team All-Central League honoree as a freshman in 2012, sat out the 2013 season, and then returned again in 2014 without missing a beat, being named an Honorable Mention honoree.

Turner accumulated 116 total tackles in two seasons, including 64 in 2014. He notched 3.5 sacks, 19 tackles for a loss, forced a pair of fumbles, has seven career break-ups, and an interception.
