Cal State San Bernardino sophomore Cassandra Williams has been named California Collegiate Athletic Association Softball Pitcher of the Week for Mar. 9-15.
The Apple Valley native led the way for the Coyotes in their series against Chico State last week. She went 2-0 and threw two complete games, giving up 10 hits, allowing just one run, striking out nine and walking only two.
She threw 6 1/3 innings of shutout play in Friday’s 3-1 victory with six strikeouts and one walk. The following afternoon, she threw a 3-hit shutout with three strikeouts and a walk.
On the weekend, she contributed offensively as well, compiling a .385 average and .769 slugging percentage with five hits, including two doubles and a home runs in 13 plate appearances.
