Two football players from Citrus move on

Two more Citrus College Football players are set to move on from the Owls to four-year programs. Sophomore defensive back Tyler Walker (above) has accepted a scholarship offer from NCAA Division II Dixie State, while freshman wide receiver Patrick Smith plans to walk-on at NCAA DI Middle Tennessee.

As a reserve during his freshman campaign in 2012, Walker, a graduate of Los Osos High School, had five total tackles. As a sophomore in 2014, Walker became one of Citrus’ top defenders recording 41 tackles, and recording a pair of interceptions.

With the signing of Walker and the walking-on by Smith, a total of 12 Owls have accepted opportunities to continue their playing careers from the 2014 roster.
