The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team is coming off the best season in school history. Well the experts expect the Athenas to bring that momentum into this season as CMS has earned a No. 8 national preseason ranking by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

CMS went 27-7 7 last season, advancing to the NCAA Division III quarterfinal before losing 3-2 to Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Coach Kurt Vlasich graduated just two players from that squad.

Calvin (Mich.) is ranked No. 1.

The SCIAC is also represented by Cal Lutheran at No. 5 while the University of La Verne was in the receiving votes category.
