Cal Poly Pomona’s Michael Koval (Alta Loma High School) has been named California Collegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week.
The junior right-hander earned a win for the Broncos in Saturday’s series opener against No. 19 Cal State Monterey Bay. He went seven innings and held his opponents to just a .200 average, allowing just one earned run on five hits, while striking out seven Otter batters.
This is the fourth Pitcher of the Week selection for a Cal Poly Pomona pitcher this season.
Player of the Week honors went to junior outfielder-first baseman Chris Nicholson of San Francisco State.
