SBVC soccer standout to stay close to home

San Bernardino Valley soccer standout Alfonso Cano has signed a letter of intent with Cal State San Bernardino.

Cano, a Fontana High School graduate. was named first team All-Foothill Conference this past fall and scoring five goals with two assists, including two game winning goals. The sophomore midfielder was also named Honorable Mention All-Foothill Conference in 2012.

Cano was part of a Wolverines team that went further than any team in school history, hosting a Southern California Finals match. SBVC was 13-4-6 overall and 4-2-2 in the Foothill Conference.

Cal State is led by first-year coach, Steve Ralas.
