Cal Poly Pomona senior DeRonn Scott has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 13-20.

Scott, an Etiwanda High school graduate, guided Cal Poly Pomona to two road victories at Cal State L.A. and Cal State Dominguez Hills as the Broncos extended its win streak to nine games.

During Friday’s 64-53 win at Cal State L.A., Scott totaled 17 points after making four shots from the floor and nine-of-12 attempts from the free throw line.  The following night, in a 60-52 victory against the Toros, the guard notched a weekend-high 18 points on 53.8 percent shooting (7-for-13) from the floor and perfect shooting (4-for-4) from the free throw line.

Through the two games, Scott averaged 34.5 minutes of play, 17.5 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
