Junior swimmer Ellie Jaques of the University of Redlands has been named Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Female Athlete of the Week for her showing against Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.

Jaques, a Glendora HS graduate, earned a pair of first-place times and a second-place showing. She won the 100 Breast (1:08.76), which was more than two seconds faster than the Sagehen runner-up.

She was second in the 100 free with a season best 55.12.

Finally, she capped off a solid day by winning the 200 breast with another season-best time to head up a podium sweep for the Bulldogs. She out-swam all competition with her time of 2:30.61.

Chapman University’s Cam Haslam of the basketball team received the nod for SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week.
