Three local JC soccer players earn All-American honors

Three local community college soccer standouts have earned All-American honors.

The Chaffey College men’s team is represented by sophomore midfielder Bryan Guzman (Eisenhower HS) and sophomore forward Peter Fregoso (Roosevelt). both of whom were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America second team in the Division III junior colleges division.

Each player totaled 13 goals with Guzman, the Foothill Conference Player of the Year, also dishing out nine assists for the Panthers (17-3-3).

On the women’s side, freshman midfielder Amy Rosales (Rialto) of San Bernardino Valley College also earned a second-team nod. She helped the Wolverines (15-2-6) to a Foothill Conference title with four goals and five assists.

SBVC soccer player headed to Texas college

SBVC Women’s Soccer forward Natalie Sevilla (Hemet Tahquitz HS) has signed a national letter of intent to play for NAIA Texas A&M University-Texarkana next season.

 Sevilla helped a front line that was one of the most potent in the country, scoring six goals and assisting on three others. She finished the 2013 season with a shooting percentage of .261 on 23 shots.

 Sevilla helped the Wolverines to a 17-3-2 overall record and a 9-1 conference record. They were rewarded with a #3 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Texas A&M University–Texarkana is located in Texarkana, Texas, which is about 7 miles west of the Arkansas-Texas border.
