Jordan Faison has earned his second California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week after a stellar performance on Saturday. In the team’s lone contest this weekend, Cal Poly Pomona men’s basketball topped the Humboldt State Jacks 86-76. The conference office announced its decision for the week of Jan. 18-24 on Tuesday.
Faison, a senior from Lake Forest, was nearly perfect from the field in the matchup as he sank 8-of-9 shots. His successful field goals added to his six good free throws landed him with 22 points, a figure that led both teams.
The forward was not done there however, as he nearly reached a double-double with nine rebounds. Adding to his points and boards, the 6-foot-7 Bronco dished out seven assists in the contest and also stifled the Jacks’ offense as he added a pair of blocks.
The Broncos will return to action on Thursday as they host the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes for Pack the Stands night at Kellogg Arena.
