Cal Trans has changed its mind about closing the Cajon Pass on weekends and instead will concentrate all the work in October.

The original plan called for nine weekend closures this summer
and next, but officials want to reduce the pain to motorists by
getting the work done as quickly as possible.

The work is now scheduled to have major closures starting Sept. 29 and going through October.

A 30-minute Sig-alert has been issued due to a three car crash on the southbound 215 at Third Street. One vehicle is blocking the fast lane, the CHP reports.

CHP has issued a Sig-alert for the eastbound 91 at Arlington Avenue due to a car crash. Two lanes are shut down for an unknown duration. Update: Sig-alert canceled at 8:21 a.m.

Heavy traffic reported on the westbound 10 at Monte Vista due to an 11-car crash with injuries. Two freeway lanes are blocked, the CHP reported. Traffic backed up to at least Euclid Avenue. Update: Lanes reported to be clear at 8:28 a.m.

Traffic is slowing on the northbound 215 at Orange Show Road and Second Street, but most other major highways such as the 10, 15 and 60 are clear, Caltrans reports.

The CHP has issued a Sig-alert regarding a cottonseed oil spill at Cherry and Slover avenues in Fontana. The Citrus and Cherry avenue off-ramps have been reopened, but southbound traffic on Cherry is closed. Traffic remains backed up to at least Milliken Avenue in Ontario. Update: Southbound traffic on Cherry is now open to Slover Avenue.

Caltrans reports some slow traffic on the northbound 215 at Orange Show Road and Second Street, as well as the 91 eastbound at Lincoln Avenue. Other major highways show smooth traffic.

Highway 38 from Bryant Street in Mentone to Lake Williams has been closed due to a large brush fire that started Tuesday.

San Timoteo Canyon Road is closed from Live Oak Canyon Rd. to Redlands Blvd. for ongoing repairs and clean up due to a train derailment.

Two vehicles involved in a traffic collision are in the fast lane on the westbound 60 at Frederick Street. Ambulance is responding.

Five vehicles are reported to be stopped in the fast lane after a traffic collision on the westbound 60 at Diamond Bar Boulevard.
