Freeway closure, Highway 60, Beaumont 8:46 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol closed both sides of Highway 60 at Gilman Springs Road in an area called the Badlands just west of Beaumont due to a semi truck that overturned and caught on fire. The driver escaped the semi before it became engulfed in flames. Eastbound traffic is being diverted off the 60 at Gilman Springs and westbound motorists are being directed toward the 10 Freeway. A Sig Alert was issued at 8:55 a.m. and its duration was unknown. Update: The freeway is expected to reopen about 4:30 p.m.
