Traffic advisory, Highway 71, Chino Hills 5:26 a.m.

|

One of the two southbound lanes of Highway 71 is expected to be closed until about 8:30 a.m. following a crash involving a tractor trailer and a cow. The semi driver jackknifed on Highway 71 this morning while trying to avoid a cow and a bull that were on the highway. The crash killed the cow, and sent the bull running down the road. The crash occurred on the southbound Highway 71 about two miles north of Highway 91 in an unincorporated area between Chino hills and the Prado Dam at 4:01 a.m. Officers said traffic was backed up well into Chino. Update: Lanes were reopened at 9 a.m.
