The California Highway Patrol closed Highway 18 north of San Bernardino after a dump truck overturned, spilling rebar and concrete on the road. The dump truck collided with a vehicle on Highway 18 north of 40th Street and South of Old Waterman Canyon Road. Two other vehicles were also involved in the crash and two people suffered minor injuries.The highway will be closed until about 5 p.m.

Traffic was backed up almost to Van Buren Boulevard.

The CHP shut down all westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway for about a five-mile stretch due to multiple car crashes and heavy fog near the 10 Freeway interchange. The first of several crashes occurred at 4:21 a.m. and involved a vehicle whose driver crashed into the side of a mountain. Officers arrived on scene and discovered visibility was less than 20 feet. The CHP requested assistance from the Indio CHP office, Banning and Beaumont police departments and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department to handle traffic control and crash reports. Traffic was diverted onto the westbound 10. The duration of the closure was not known. UPDATE: Lanes were reopened at 6:47 a.m.

Motorists where reporting heavy traffic on the southbound I-15 due primarily to holiday traffic, according to CHP dispatchers. several small crashes were also complicating traffic. At 3 p.m., north of Highway 138 a gold Nissan collided with a Chevy sedan. North of Summit Avenue, wood debris was reported in the fast lanes.

A tractor trailer hauling oranges burst into flames after it ran off the eastbound 40 near National Trails Highway east of Ludlow and slid about 20 feet down an embankment. The CHP shut down one lane following the crash. Officers said the semi fire ignited nearby vegetation, but it was unknown how much brush was burning. There were two reported injuries, one person with head trauma and a large cut to the eye and a second person with a possible broken shoulder. Lanes were reopened at 10:23 a.m.
Three cars collided on the westbound 10 west of Beaumont Avenue, scattering debris and tires in all lanes, the CHP reported. The vehicles stopped on the right shoulder.

Officials were working to remove a vehicle that was traveling on the southbound I-15 at Minneola Road. the vehicle veeered out of control, rolled and landed 50-feet away from the interstate.
A vehicle has struck a telephone pole, causing wires to fall across Milpas Drive south of Lancelet Road. CHP reported the wires were sparking.

A tractor trailer broke down on the westbound 10 Freeway at Indian Hill Boulevard, blocking one lane. The semi's brakes locked up after debris in the roadway damaged an air line, the CHP said.

A white Ford pickup truck overturned on the southbound 15 Freeway just north of Baker, throwing out an occupant of the vehicle onto the road. The motorist was pronounced dead at the scene. No lanes are blocked.
A crash that reportedly resulted in a fatality on the westbound I-10 at Indian Ave. is nearly clear and all lanes of traffic have been opened according to CHP. The crash had affected traffic for a far distance because all lanes of the westbound 10 were completely closed. Motorists had been making U-turns at Bob Hope Drive in an effort to escape the gridlock.
