The two right lanes of the 10 Freeway were closed after a water main broke near Riverside Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert, closed the two right lanes and the Riverside Avenue off-ramp. Just after noon, officers said the closure backed up traffic to Cherry Avenue.
Caltrans officials reported a water main broke just before 10 a.m. and that the two lanes would remain closed until about 2 p.m. Lanes were reopened at 2 p.m., but some residual traffic back up remained.
