Two people received major injuries this morning when a vehicle plunged over the side of the 60 Freeway, overturned and crashed into a tree. Two helicopters flew to the scene at the westbound 60 Freeway at Phillips Ranch Road to take the victims to area hospitals. All westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes were closed for about 15 minutes, said California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos. The crash was reported at 7:20 a.m. and involved at least one vehicle. The CHP issued a Sig Alert, which lasted until 8:11 a.m.
A semi truck caught on fire, forcing the CHP to shut down a lane on the southbound 15 Freeway at Sixth Street. Officers received a report that all transition roads were backed up and vehicles were crossing the middle of the freeway to get onto the 210.

The semi rolled over on the westbound 40 about five miles west of Ludlow at 5:37 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said. CHP officers issued a Sig Alert at 5:45 a.m. The duration was unknown. UPDATE: The Sig Alert was canceled at 8:02 a.m.
The #4 lane is blocked on the east bound 210 Freeway just west of Citrus Avenue because of fire trucks. Firefighters are working on a 1/4 acre fire on the side of the freeway.

Two crashes involving five cars snarled traffic on the eastbound 210 Freeway this morning, prompting a Sig Alert. The crash at Del Rosa Avenue at 6:28 a.m. resulted in minor injuries, said California Highway Patrol Officer Albert Graciano.

A semi truck spilled about 100 gallons of fuel on the Sierra Avenue off-ramp from the southbound 15 Freeway. The CHP said a motorcyclist slid on the fuel, but was able to upright the bike and ride away.
Caltrans will be repairing the median wall on the east and westbound 60 Freeway between Benson and Central avenues in Montclair from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Construction crews will be paving two lanes on the southbound 15 Freeway at Highway 395 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Hesperia. One northbound lane and the northbound 395 connector ramp will also be closed.

All lanes of the eastbound 91 Freeway were blocked this afternoon when a tractor trailer overturned and spilled about 50 metal pipes.
The crash occurred on the transition road to the northbound 15 Freeway at 11:53 a.m., prompting a Sig Alert. The California Highway Patrol said 50 to 60 metal pipes about 40 feet long were blocking all lanes and transmission fluid had leaked onto the road.
The duration of the closure was not known.
