Sig Alert, 60 Freeway, Diamond Bar 7:20 a.m.

Two people received major injuries this morning when a vehicle plunged over the side of the 60 Freeway, overturned and crashed into a tree. Two helicopters flew to the scene at the westbound 60 Freeway at Phillips Ranch Road to take the victims to area hospitals. All westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes were closed for about 15 minutes, said California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos. The crash was reported at 7:20 a.m. and involved at least one vehicle. The CHP issued a Sig Alert, which lasted until 8:11 a.m.
