Lane closures, Highway 138, Barstow surface streets, Highway 247

Highway 138 between the 15 Freeway and Beekley Road was closed about 7:30 a.m. due to white out conditions - low visibility caused by the weather. The CHP was preparing to close Highway 247 in Barstow, and may also shut down the Cajon Pass if the snow falls too heavily for snow plows to keep up.
Caltrans officials urged bus and truck drivers to avoid Highways 18 and 38 toward Big Bear today due to weather conditions.
Highway 18 from Big Bear Dam to Talbot Drive in Big Bear Lake has been closed until further notice due to snow, Caltrans officials said.
All other areas of the San Bernardino Mountains are open, but chains are required.
