Sig Alert, 210 Freeway, Rancho Cucamonga 12:29 a.m.

|

A tractor trailer hauling 65,000 pounds of corrosive acid caught on fire on the 210 Freeway, leading to a partial freeway closure that is expected to last until 10 a.m. today. The fire was reported at 11:19 p.m. Sunday on the westbound 210 Freeway at Day Creek Road in Rancho Cucamonga.
While the fire was being extinguished, some of the acid spilled out of the trailer, said California Highway Patrol Officer Jaci Parent. Officers closed all lanes at 12:29 a.m. due to the smoke. Three lanes were reopened at 2:15 a.m., but the slow lane remained closed so a crew could clean up the spill.
