Sig Alert, 10 Freeway, Colton 4:33 a.m.

A tractor trailer hauling 40,000 pounds of chicken overturned on the 10 Freeway in Colton this morning, prompting a Sig Alert. The California Highway Patrol closed the fast lane on both sides of the highway and issued a Sig Alert at 4:33 a.m. The crash on the eastbound 10 at Rancho Avenue was reported at 2:44 a.m. The cab of the semi landed on the center divider. The driver was injured in the crash. CHP officers received reports that more than 45 gallons of fuel leaked from the big rig. The contents of the trailer needed to be removed before the semi could be moved from the scene. The duration of the Sig Alert was unknown.
