|
Caltrans officials expect to have one lane on Highway 38 reopened by about 3 p.m. so workers can flag motorists through the area where a brush fire burned three acres. The fire was reported at 11:15 a.m. off Highway 38 in Mountain Home Village west of Forest Falls. Fire dispatchers said the blaze started in some trees and spread to brush, heading uphill toward a ridge. The highway was closed between Bryant Avenue and Sugar Pine Circle. Firefighters have stopped the spread of the blaze, but are dousing hot spots. The highway is expected to be completely reopened by about 5 or 6 p.m.
