SR-18 repair work to last through August

|
A paving project begun this week to repair damaged pavement on SR-18 in the San Bernardino Mountains will continue through late August.

Work is being done on the back side of the San Bernardino Mountains from Pine View Drive (post mile 53) to Meridian Road (post mile 72.1) between Big Bear and Apple Valley.

Work hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Flagging will take place during the work -- delays are expected to be approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Two lanes, offramp closed on northbound I-15

|
A paving project on northbound I-15 in Fontana will shut down two lanes and an offramp from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (June 22) and Thursday (June 23).

The number 3 and 4 lanes from Duncan Canyon Road to Sierra Avenue and the Sierra Avenue offramp will be affected by the construction.

SR-60/I-215 work in Riverside today

|
The commute through Riverside is going to be rough going from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (June 15) due to several closures on both the north- and southbound I-215. The closures are due to bridge inspections.

Caltrans is urging commuters to avoid the area if possible.

Here's the breakdown of what's going to be closed when:

  • Northbound I-215/westbound SR-60 at Iowa Avenue: Number 4 and 5 lanes, along with the University Avenue and Blaine Street offramps closed 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Southbound I-215 at Columbia Avenue: Number 3 and auxiliary lanes, along with the Columbia Avenue on- and offramps closed 10:30 a.m. to noon; number 1 and 2 lanes closed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Also, the southbound I-215 connector to the southbound I-215/eastbound SR-60 will be closed.

Complete I-215 closure tonight

|
The ongoing I-215 widening project is going to cause problems for those driving through San Bernardino tonight.

Both north- and southbound I-215 will be closed from 9 p.m. tonight (June 9) through 5 a.m. tomorrow (June 10).

The southbound closure will be from SR-210 to SR-259. The northbound closure will be between Muscupiabe Drive to SR-210.

Your best bet is to avoid the area, but if you have to drive through town, Caltrans is offering the following detours:

  • Northbound: Exit Muscupiabe Drive, turn right on Highland Avenue, enter the northbound SR-259, exit E Street and turn left, turn left on 30th Street, turn left again on H Street, head west on SR-210 and take the northbound I-215 connector.
  • Southbound: Take the eastbound SR-210 connector, exit H Street and turn left, turn right on 30th Street, and enter the southbound SR-259.
