A release from the Grand Prix office:

Grand Prix Association of Long Beach President & CEO Jim Michaelian is among an influential list of more than 40 top executives from the motorsports industry and beyond who will be participating as a featured panelist in the inaugural Motor Sport Business Forum North America (MSBF-NA) at the Orlando Hilton Dec. 8 - 9.

Michaelian is one of six executives taking part in the panel entitled "Building 'The Show' - Event Promoters."

The panel will discuss the successes they've had in promoting many of the world's biggest motorsports events over the years and the challenges they face in today's difficult economy.

Joining Michaelian on the panel will be International Speedway Corporation (ISC) Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Roger VanDerSnick, Bahrain International Circuit CEO Martin Whitaker, Green Savoree Racing Promotions Inc. CEO Kim Green, Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage and Just Marketing International (JMI) Founder and CEO Zak Brown, who will serve as the panel's moderator.

"The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach has earned the distinction of being America's No. 1 street race and is one of the world's most recognizable motorsports events on an annual basis," Michaelian said. "That being said, we've also definitely had our share of challenges over the years, as have my counterparts on the panel. I'm looking forward to learning what these other successful event promoters have done to meet their own challenges."
